One could argue that August is just a magical month. Only shortly after learning that Las Vegas Bride will be featuring photos by Michael + Anna Costa of Teresa Strasser’s wedding as a cover story, we found out that LA Rag Mag ran a very tasteful piece on their celebrity gossip news blog, right between Tobey Maquire and Heidi Klum. Then, before we could even catch our breath, The Insider had also picked up the story and our office was thoroughly exhausted with being thoroughly excited.
Excitement has filled our Orange County office, as this month’s Riviera featured Mint Julep Social Events in their “The Radar Now!” We’re honored to be mentioned in what amounts to be not only the hippest, but possibly the most important publication in all of Orange County. The magazine raves about the creatively deft hands Michelle Lynn Buckley brings to her events, naming her the “Mid-Century Maven” of OC. Congratulations, Michelle!
One of our newest, super cute couples has decided they want a wine country wedding, a nice destination weekend for their Southern California friends and family. And, if there is one thing we do well over at Mint Julep Social Events, it’s location scout! So, after an exciting run in with Kate Flannery, a short flight to Oakland, and a necessary upgrade at the car rental counter, we were cruising around Napa in a silver convertible, taking in the fresh air and keeping an eye out for the first venue on our short list. If you haven’t been, Napa and the surrounding area are simply wonderful. And, while, almost every venue looked more beautiful than the last, we finally selected an amazing chateau inspired property. Perhaps rivaled only by the most select vineyard in the French country side, the attentive staff, plush accommodations, and cavernous barrel rooms, easily put this venue at the top of our list. Brilliant! After a late lunch at Bouchon, our wonderful day in wine country was over; and we were soon back on a jet headed to our office in Los Angeles.

Have you ever wondered what a Beverly Hills wedding looks like in May? Well, when handled by Mint Julep Social Events, it looks absolutely stunning. Rivaled only by the ivory floral design towering over each table, live parakeets in decorative cages lined the ballroom. The Beverly Hills Four Seasons looked the very essence of springtime with cheerful yellows and splashes of greens dancing through the garden and into the ballroom. And the merriment didn’t end with the decor: a traditional Paebaek ceremony was performed to honor the bride’s heritage, a photobooth was provided for cocktail amusements, and a seven piece band kept the crowd moving until the wee hours of the morning. Joan Allen Studio did a spectacular job capturing it all on photograph. Spring is here!
This weekend Mint Julep Social Events held its Downtown LA Grand Opening. The party was a smashing success! Black Tie Event catered our soiree with sushi (the most popular), lettuce wraps, cous cous, carmelized cheese wheel, and yummy bruschetta; Delicious, organic merlot, shiraz, and cabernet were provided by Tisdale. An exciting art exhibit by Jophen Stein titilated guests while our rooftop lounge provided a breathtaking respite from the loft happenings.
And how wonderful was it that Teresa Strasser and her fiance Daniel dropped in? Very much so! Michael and Anna Costa, the Digital Princess Productions ladies, Brian Ray of CSI: Miami, Maquillage, and Paul and Kristine of Fifty Foot Films all came by to support Mint Julep. Guests departed with custom Mint Julep notecards to add to their stationery stash and warm memories of the new Mint Juelp space downtown!
